The Netherlands joins forces to promote Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and Aerospace in the US

The first week of April the 2012 MRO Aerospace Convention took place in Dallas, Texas. Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), AAA (Amsterdam Airport Area), Limburg Development Company (Liof) and BOM Foreign Investments worked together to present the Netherlands as the place to be for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) and Aerospace.

Besides visiting the MRO-convention, the delegation also organized a network dinner for aerospace companies in the US. During the dinner Schiphol, Limburg and Brabant presented their regions, each highlighting the different opportunities for US investors.

Allison Turner (Area Director of the NFIA) explained: "It is good to see that the three regions work together, this approach makes the case for investments to the Netherlands stronger."

Finally, around the convention also different visits the four organizations joined forces in visits to aerospace companies in the Dallas region, resulting in different follow up actions for the coming weeks. This joint effort created new opportunities for the Netherlands as the MRO hotspot in Europe.

Cooperation NFIA, BOM, LIOF and SADC
In 2011 the NFIA, BOM, LIOF, AAA together with the Netherlands Aerospace Group (NAG) decided to cooperate on national acquisition for the Aerospace and Maintenance sector. The four organizations are working on creating one value proposition for the Netherlands and organize joint efforts on international acquisition. For example later this year the NFIA, BOM, LIOF, SADC will be represented together on the Farnborough Airshow in the UK and at the MRO Europe in Amsterdam in October.
